Union Market coming to our hood

I hope this rumor is true. It's a little overpiced but better than nothing.

I live 2 blocks from the Union/6th Ave place and try to avoid it - I only go there when we need something quickly and we can't get it at a bodega.

Too expensive - which would be OK if they were selling things that you can't get elsewhere; but you can buy the same stuff at other places in the 'hood for much, much less.

Still, the more options, the better.

Perelandra and Garden of Eden are two really nice grocery stores in Brooklyn Heights. They are probably closer to Bell Tel than the proposed Union Market store.

I like Garden of Eden, too - and it's pretty closeby. I don't know Perelandra, where is that exactly?

And for specialty stuff, it's hard to beat Sahadis.

Perelandra is a great organic grocery store. While it's a little expensive, its prices are probably lower than Garden of Eden and the staff are really friendly. Its product selection reminds me of a mix between a Food Co-op and Whole Foods. It's also a little closer to Belltel than Garden of Eden. It's located at 175 Remsen St, a block north of Joralemon and about one building west of Court St.

I think it would be helpful if the Bell Tel team and future owners all contacted Fresh Direct so that it would include Bell Tel in its delivery area. Currently, Fresh Direct does not deliver on Willoughby but I think this is something that could be changed quickly with enough interest and support from management. Until there is a good grocer in close walking distance I think having Fresh Direct deliver to the building would be a great step in the right direction.

I couldn't agree with you more. I think that is definitly something I'd like to take on. I'd just like to wait until we have some move ins.
