This blog is for owners or people who'd like to be owners at the Belltel Lofts at 365 Bridge Street Downtown Brooklyn. Also, anyone wanting to discuss Downtown Brooklyn in general.
This is really funny you mentioned this! Today they had a story in the NY times about the heating real estate market in NYC. Take a look at this. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/19/nyregion/19market.html?_r=1&ref=realestate&oref=slogin
Tonino Nothing wrong with being over excited about the area. If you're over excited, then what am I? I started a blog for the building I'm moving into. I'm obsessed with everything Downtown. I read everything and anything related to our new neighborhood and surrounding hoods and try to post info that I think people would find interesting.
Come to think about it, I could use some therapy. Maybe a vacation would help.
It would be interesting to have a part of this page dedicated to the local restaurants/retail/etc. Like where's the best place to get a slice around BellTel? Or a quart of milk at 10pm?
The BellTel site is terrible in this regard since it skips on groceries totally and its map doesn't match up the dots with the list of businesses.
anon That is a great idea. I was thinking of this as well. I was walking around the Downtown area about 2 weekends ago but it was simply too cold out. I did stumble upon a natural foods store on Willoughby between Lawrence & Jay St. That will come in handy.
I will definetly put something together with a list of businesses & maybe links to maps. I haven't ironed it all out as of yet.
I don't know anyone who has bought at One Hanson Place. I assume that sales are doing fine. It's a beautiful building. Suprisingly, you don't see much talk about it in the real estate blogs. Although, that doesn't mean anything.
The only thing (aside from $$) that puts me off One Hanson Place is that its front yard and backyard are going to be noisy dirty construction sites for the next 5 years. Sure, the area around BellTel is going to be, too, but not to the same extent as Ratnerville.

Much more money per sq.ft. and I think you're being conservative with 5 yrs.
